A cousin to the cabbage, radish is a root vegetable that can be white, red, purple, or black, and the shape can be either spherical or cylindrical. It is rich in vitamin C, and fiber, and has good amounts of folate, riboflavin, potassium, copper, vitamin B6, magnesium, manganese, calcium and is low in calorie. With its low GI, radishes are good for diabetics, as well as aiding to detoxify, regulate blood pressure, treat urinary problems, and manage weight loss. It is usually eaten raw as part of your beloved salad, cooked, or pickled.
